Absinthe For Mac Updated to Fix VPN And White Icon Issues

greenpois0n absinthe

Hot on the heels of releasing greenpois0n Absinthe for Windows, Chronic Dev Team has also updated Absinthe for Mac v0.2 for iPhone 4S and iPad 2 users to fix VPN and white icon bugs.

The latest version of Absinthe fixes the issue where some users complained that their iPhone 4S / iPad 2 did not reboot at the end of the jailbreak process even after using the VPN trick.

Absinthe v0.2 also fixes the issue where some users had complained that some of the app icons were white after jailbreaking their iOS device with Absinthe, though the apps worked fine.

planetbeing announced the release of the update via Twitter:

“…Mac version updated. v0.2: Tries to fix no reboot after activating VPN/tapping Absinthe icon. We also tried to fix white icons on SpringBoard after jb.”

planetbeing has said that rerunning the updated version if you've successfully jailbroken your iOS device is pointless.

greenpois0n Absinthe for Mac supports the following iOS devices and firmwares:

iPhone 4S running iOS 5.0, 5.0.1 (9A405 and 9A406)iPad 2 Wifi/GSM/CDMA running iOS 5.0.1
