CD C:\cinject_0.4.3

Step 5) – After going into the proper folder through command prompt you will now need to type in another command as shown in the quoted area below.

cinject -i payloads/jailbreak.mobileconfig

Step 6) - Once you have typed the above command you will notice an install profile window appears on your iPad 2. You will need to tap the install button, ignore the password screen and tap next button on your iPad 2 to install this special Jailbreak profile.

Step 7) - After the profile has been installed you will need to type in another command into Windows command prompt.

cinject -j payloads

Step 8 ) – You now need to execute yet another command through Windows command prompt.

cinject -w

Step 9) – Now go into the Settings.app on your iPad, into the General Tab, then into the Network Tab, and finally you should see a VPN toggle. You will need to toggle VPN to the ON position and then you should notice you receive an error “A configuration error occurred.” Tap the OK button and your iPad 2 should reboot.

Step 10) – Once it has rebooted you will notice Cydia on your SpringBoard (homescreen). This means the Jailbreak worked and you now have a Jailbroken iPad 2 running the iOS 5.0.1 firmware.

Another solution that has been reported to work for this error is to simply go into the Settings.app > General Tab > Network Tab > VPN Tab and then toggle VPN to the ON position. This will cause an error dialog box to appear where once dismissed will reboot your iPad 2, and in most cases will allow you to use the Absinthe app to finish your Jailbreak.

Tip #2: If all else fails, try restoring your iPad 2 (if you have not already) to factory settings, restart your computer and switch USB ports.

@pimskeks On Absinthe For Windows: “Just A Few Tests And We’ll Release It”

Yesterday was an amazing day for all the iPhone 4S and iPad 2 owners around the world. The A5 untethered jailbreak, which was being worked on for quite a while, was finally released to the public. Developed by the Chronic Dev-Team, the jailbreak tool was called Absinthe. However, due to certain difficulties, the tool was only released for Mac OS X users.

Earlier today, the CLI jailbreak tool was released for Windows users to untethered jailbreak the iPhone 4S and iPad 2. It was released by the iPhone Dev-Team and requires you to use the command prompt in Windows to jailbreak your iPhone 4S and iPad 2. Now that’s not something a normal iDevice user would want to try.

We also told you about the recent tweet from @posixninja, which said that Absinthe for Windows will be released soon. Now, there’s another update from the developer who’s actually building the Windows version of Absinthe. If you have been following the whole Absinthe thing, then I’m pretty sure that you must have heard of @pimskeks (Nikias Bassen). He just tweeted that he’s currently running some tests with the tool and that it should be out soon!

So, folks, the wait is almost over! Absinthe for Windows will be released very soon! Could be in a few hours. Who’s waiting to untethered jailbreak their iPhone 4S and iPad 2 on iOS 5 or 5.0.1?

Earlier today we told you that the command line interface (CLI) version of the iPhone 4S Untethered Jailbreak was released for Windows. While most Jailbreaking solutions onwards from 2010 have generally been released with a GUI (graphical user interface), the initial release of the Windows A5 Untethered Jailbreak will require you to use the Windows command prompt. This is partly because the iPhone 4S Untethered Jailbreak has proved to be one of the most complicated Jailbreaks ever developed, and at this time the Dream Team are still trying to port Absinthe to Windows.

If you are not skilled with the Windows command prompt then you will be glad to know that in this how to guide from iJailbreak.com, you will learn how to Jailbreak your iPhone 4S on the iOS 5.0 or iOS 5.0.1 firmwares (9A405 and 9A406) using CLI on the Windows operating system.

P0sixninja: Absinthe For Windows Will Be Out Soon!

The A5 untethered jailbreak has been released and everyone is jailbreaking their iPhone 4S and iPad 2 untethered. The wait is finally over, but not for everyone. The Absinthe tool, released by GreenPoison, has been made for Mac OS X only and Windows users are not feeling so good. There has been no update on when the Windows version of this tool will be released.

If you’re a Windows user and are frustrated at the moment, then this tweet from @posixninja will soon calm you down. He is also a contributer, and this was the tweet that he just sent out:

So, users who are waiting for the Windows version of Absinthe to jailbreak their iPhone 4S or iPad 2, will have to wait a little longer. Wait for Nikias to get home and he will have it ready for you to download. All the members of the Dream Team and the others who contributed have done so much already. It’s surely okay to wait a little longer for the Windows version.

Mac users, have you already jailbroken your iPhone 4S or iPad 2?

Download CLI Windows Untethered Jailbreak For iPhone 4S And iPad 2

Yesterday we told you that the iPhone Dev-Team released a command line interface (CLI) version of their iPhone 4S and iPad 2 Untethered Jailbreak. As of the time of writing that article yesterday, CLI was only available for Mac OS X users. Now, however, hacker MuscleNerd has mentioned that CLI is available for Windows users that will allow them to Jailbreak their iPhone 4S and iPad 2 Untethered running the iOS 5.0 (iPhone 4S only) or iOS 5.0.1 firmware by typing in commands through terminal (CMD). Generally Jailbreak solutions are released with a GUI (graphical user interface), but as the A5 Untethered Jailbreak proved to be one of the most complicated Jailbreaks ever developed, it looks like Windows users will be stuck using the command line version of the tool until Absinthe is properly updated.

If you would like to download CLI for Windows please click here (not working? Click here instead). Additionally, the ReadMe for the CLI tool can be found by clicking here. In this guide, we will take you through the step by step procedure to jailbreak iPhone 4S running iOS 5.0.1 or iOS 5 using Absinthe for Windows users.

Here are some important points to note before you proceed.

This guide is meant for iPhone 4S users. iPad 2 users can checkout this step-by-step guide. iPhone 4 and iPhone 3GS users can checkout this guide, iPod touch users can checkout this guide and iPad 1 users can checkout this guide. This guide is only for Windows users. Mac users can refer to this step-by-step guide.Absinthe performs an untethered jailbreak. Please note that jailbreaking your iPhone may void your warranty and hence proceed with caution and at your own risk. Please do not forget to backup your iPhone before you proceed. Step 1: Download Absinthe for Windows from this link and save the application in a folder named "Absinthe" on your desktop.

Step 2: Double click the Absinthe zip file and extract the application to the Absinthe folder. Navigate back to the Absinthe folder and launch the Absinthe application.

Note:

Please launch the application as an Administrator. Right Click on the Absinthe exe and select the "Run as Administrator" option.

Step 3: After launching Absinthe, you will be prompted to connect your iPhone 4S.

Note:

a. Please disable the passcode temporarily to jailbreak your iPhone 4S (Settings -> General -> Passcode Lock -> Turn Passcode Off).

b. Please also remove any VPN settings that you may have configured on your iPhone.

Step 4: Absinthe should detect your iPhone and also mention the iOS firmware that is running on it. Click on the Jailbreak button.

After clicking on the Jailbreak button the tool will give a progress update on the various stages of the jailbreak process such as:

"Beginning jailbreak" (note this can really take sometime - in our case this step took more than 10 minutes on our iPad 2, though it was lot quicker on iPhone 4S)

"Sending initial data" at this time you will notice that "Restoring in Progress" message on your iPhone 4S (this can also take a long time - in our case this step took more than 15 mins)

"Waiting for reboot"

"Waiting for device to finish rebooting" as your iPhone 4S is rebooting.

"Preparing jailbreak data"

"Sending payload data" (this can also take a long time - in our case this step took more than 15 mins)

Step 5: In the end you'll be prompted with the message informing you that the jailbreak is "Almost done - just unlock the screen if necessary, then tap "Jailbreak" icon to finish.

Step 6: Unlock your iPhone. The icon you should look for is the Absinthe icon and not "Jailbreak", it may not be on the first home screen page so you're better off just searching for it using Spotlight.

Step 7: Launch the Absinthe app. It should load the greenpois0n site and reboot your iPhone 4S. After it is rebooted, you should see the Cydia icon.

That's it, your iPhone 4S is successfully jailbroken.

Troubleshooting tips:

You should now be able to click jailbreak when you plug in your device. it worked for me.10. Here are some important points to note before you proceed.

This guide is meant for iPad 2 users. iPhone 4S users can checkout this step-by-step guide. iPhone 4 and iPhone 3GS users can checkout this guide, iPod touch users can checkout this guide and iPad 1 users can checkout this guide. This guide is only for Windows users. Mac users can refer to this step-by-step guide.Absinthe performs an untethered jailbreak. Please note that jailbreaking your iPad may void your warranty and hence proceed with caution and at your own risk. Please do not forget to backup your iPad before you proceed. You can refer to this post for instructions on how to backup your iPad.Please ensure you've updated iTunes to the latest version (iTunes 10.5.3).Warning: There have been some complaints of users losing their camera roll, so please ensure you've backed up your iPad before proceeding.

Step 3: After launching Absinthe, you will be prompted to connect your iPad 2.

Note:

a. Please disable the passcode temporarily to jailbreak your iPad (Settings -> General -> Passcode Lock -> Turn Passcode Off).

b. Please also remove any VPN settings that you may have configured on your iPad.

Step 4: Absinthe should detect your iPad and also mention the iOS firmware that is running on it.

Step 6: Unlock your iPad. The icon you should look for is the Absinthe icon and not "Jailbreak", it may not be on the first home screen page so you're better off just searching for it using Spotlight.

Step 7: Launch the Absinthe app. It should load the greenpois0n site and reboot your iPad. After it is rebooted, you should see the Cydia icon.

That's it, your iPad 2 is successfully jailbroken.

iPhone Dev Team Release CLI Corona A5 iPhone 4S and iPad 2 Jailbreak For Windows [Updated]

Jailbreak iOS 5.0.1 Redsn0w

greenpois0n Absinthe by the Chronic Dev team to jailbreak iPhone 4S and iPad 2 and the CLI tool by iPhone Dev team was only available for the Mac.

We've some good news for Windows users. iPhone Dev team has just released a new version of their command line tool 0.4.3 that adds support for Windows. The CLI tool is for the technically inclined and should help in troubleshooting issues.

iPhone Dev team had provided the following details of their command line tool:

iPhone Dev have also incorporated the exact same flow into an alternative command-line interface (CLI). This will allow us to help users through individual steps of the jailbreak manually, to both help the user and help improve the overall flow.  Although the CLI will also allow the user to perform the entire jailbreak from beginning to end, we anticipate it will be more useful in debugging the occasional errors.  The CLI currently has over 20 individual options (in addition to the single “jailbreak” option) that should be useful during debug after the GUI release.

iPhone Dev team has provided the following details about the latest version of their command line tool:

The OS X version of the CLI mentioned in the post can be downloaded here.  It’s primarily to help us debug specific issues, but tinkerers might like to play around with some of its advanced options!  More info is here.

Version 0.4.3 adds support for Windows users.  It also makes the “-j” jailbreak option much more functional :)

You can download CLI using this link and check out this readme.txt file, which includes more details about how to use it.

Please remember to take a backup of your iPhone 4S or iPad 2 before proceeding.

Update:

If you need help in jailbreaking, you can checkout our step-by-step guides:

As always, let us know how it goes.
